Leo Hedman always been seeking new ways to channel his creativity. Through art, design, mask, costumes, theatre, dance, music, pottery, fencing and more. But at the age of fourteen he found that contemporary circus encompassed all his aspirations. After three inspiring years at Stockholm’s preparatory circus school, Cirkus Cirkör (2000-03), he furthered his training at the Circus Space, now National Centre for Circus Arts in London (2003-06). He started with Silk as his main discipline, but at NCCA he also mastered Rope.

Always seeking new ways of performing in the air he has now added the aerial discipline of Aerial Plastic in 2006.Drawing on and combining Silk and Rope techniques, Aerial Plastic creates a new and unique experience for the performer and audiences. Ever curious, Leo has now also started working on aerial hoop and straps.

He has performed in major festivals, circus spaces, art centres and corporate events around the world, including London's Barbican, The Roundhouse, Shunt, Ministry of Sound, Jackson's Lane, and Stratford Circus; Glastonbury Festival (UK); Subtopia Festival and Salong Giraff (Sweden); for English National Opera, BBC, NHS, GBC, ITV, Channel 4, Pirates of the Carabean II, Flight Centre. Events taking place in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Holland, Israel, USA, Ireland, Norway, Sweden and India.

Almongside performing Leo works as one of the main teacher for vertical aerial in NCCA in London.

Leo is also available for bookings as a insured aerial rigger, he is also a experinced makeup artist and costume designer can adapt and make new costumes/looks to fit your event.
